I have a 2001 rockshox psylo xc. I got a good deal on it in 01. The damping knob has a problem:disgust: It has no damping at all. When you turn the knob it turns back by itself. I took it apart and checked the plunger. There are two holes in the bottom of the plunger, when you turn the knob the rubber thingie inside turns a little but then turns back by itself, it does not cover the holes at all. Is this why the damping is not working? :rant:If so, can I just cover one of the holes with something and have at least some damping. I can't get a new one and don't have the money to even send it off to get fixed. Any help would be cool.

your LBS should know what to do with it. You will have to spend some $$ on it unless you want top just duct tape the knob in place.

It sounds like the rubber is getting stuck to the metal components. I have never tried it with bike parts, but it works with automotive parts that have a metal/rubber combination. Usually with metal bushings stuck in rubber parts.

1: Remove part and clean thouroughly, make sure it is completely dry.
2: Place in freezer for 30min
3: While chilling part, prepare some warm oil (fork oil)
4: Soak frozen part in warm oil while trying to move stuck piece

It's worth a shot.
