Hey, I'm new here so please correct me if this is the wrong place to post this, I didn't see a Versus thread so this was my best guess. Alright, to the point. I'm in the market for a new bike. I have a Gary Fisher Gitche Gumee and have had nothing but problems with it. So I've been looking around and one of the local dealers have got two bikes that have kind of sparked my interest. The first is a Rocky Mountain Bikes Vapor (I would think about the Soul for the extra 50 bucks or whatever it is just for the disk brakes) the second is the Trek 4900. They both seem like pretty good bikes, I'm 15 so I'm on a limited budget, I really don't know much about Rock Mountains, never heard of 'em, everyone else in my family has Treks and are satisfied with them so I'm alright in that department, but I would like a little more info on the ROcky Mountains if you could, and maybe some opinions on which of the, I guess three now, bikes up there would be the best buy. Thanks.

What kind of riding are you looking to do? If you want to jump off of stuff and roll over big rocks, I suggest you sit and save some more.

Naw, Probably not a ton of that, I'm not a super hardcore mountain biker. I ride a lot on like snowmobile trails and stuff like that, stuff out in the woods with some good hills and rough enough terrain to make it a good workout.

My local dealer also handles Specialized, so I guess they would maybe be a possibility too. I would be willing to try out any that you guys might suggest. Like I said though, price max is about $600-$650.
