Scored a cheap marzocchi Roco the other day. Appears to be an "RC" with a chrome shaft and rebound and compression adjusters. Before I mess around with it too much, I'm looking for help on specs. I measure about 2" of exposed shaft, and a 7.875" eye to eye. All I can find about the Roco says 7.875x2.25, but that was kind of pre-internet. The shock works surprisingly well out of the box.

Even pinkshirtphotos takes better pictures than that
look, take a chance on the notion that I may not be completely retarded.

I measured the eye to eye by drawing a point in the center of each eye then measuring the distance.
Then I compared it to my X2, identical.
I put it on the bike- fits like the X2.

I then removed the spring and retainer and measured the exposed shaft with my calipers- 2". Actually more like 1.99.
Then I measured the exposed shaft on my X2 (2.3") and my RC4 on my DH bike- 3.02".

The exposed shaft is 2", or very close. It is not 2.25" unless there is hidden shaft somewhere or the shock body goes over the aluminum shock eye that is screwed onto the shaft (it doesn't).

The hangup is that I am seeing the exact same infographic you posted above (I can google too) and am not seeing a 7.875x2.0" size, so I want to see what's up before doing much else with it. I've never owned a roco, but somebody somewhere may have an old porno/marzocchi catalog that they can look through.

Was it for rocos? I see plenty of other shocks, but not many of these. It came with a 2.25 spring on it but that doesn't really matter
I know Marz didn't advertise it, but that size was very common on bikes of a certain era, and since you clearly HAVE a shock in that size I'm guessing it was an OEM for some other brand.

Just a longshot thought...

Reach out to DVO - Bryson Martin may be able to answer your question as he was a big part of Zoke US, and if that does not pan out, - don't laugh too hard - Contact Fox, they bought the Zoke IP and all the spare parts. Somebody there may have a clue.

i'm just busting your chops. i'm also assuming you included the portion of the shaft underneath the bottom out bumper in your measurement.

I'm sure that bodes well for the condition of the various seals in the shock.
