I used a small flathead screwdriver and *carefully* pried out the lower bushings. Then once I got enough of it pried out, I used a larger flathead screwdriver and that worked for me. I used that method to remove lower bushings from Fox Vanilla RC and Stratos Helix Pro shocks.
Man, those presses are insanely expensive! 200 bucks? Wow. That totally blew my mind since you could get a HHP-1/2 for like 100 bucks
Put it this way GiantDHRider,
2 screwdrivers = $7.00 + tax
gas to hardware shop = $1.00????
removing the bushings = 2 cents worth of energy (foodwise)
riding again in one day = priceless
Or you could find a socket whose OD is larger than the ID of the bushing but smaller than the OD, then find a socket who'se ID is just larger than the OD of the bushing but smaller than the shock eyelet body part. Now carefully rest the shock over the larger socket place the smaller socket over the bushing and tap at it with a hammer until it comes out. If you have a vice you can press the smaller socket into the larger socket with the bushing in between just as easily. If you have trouble getting the sockets lined up well it helps if you use one of those allen wrench sockets and the allen wrench part will center itself on the bushing. Did that make sense. I've got access to a machine shop so I just make aluminum or delrin rods for pressing my bearings, but not everybody has that luxury.
It's only $35 for the DU pressing tool, you must have looked at the disk tab facing tool.

****ing up the removal and dodging your shock = $400+

DU bushings and Frame spacers/reducers are 2 different things. THe DU bushing is inside the end mount of the shock and the Spacers press in to the DU bushing in the end mount. You can remove spacers with flathead screwdrivers/puddy knifes/vice grips, ect... You remove DU bushings generally by pushing a new one in making the old one press out the other side. I just recently did this to my romic (the DU swap). Took a bit of force but it went in. I did the socket on one side and DU on other in my bench vise. Buy the correct tools, or be really careful with the McGuyver tools.......
