Geoff showed me the incomplete picture about 10 times. It sure looks purty all built up though... Geoff certainly deserves it though...

don't know how i feel about this bike

lawill = love

concentric = hate

i = confused.
Interesting, because the original Lawill design called for a concentric bb pivot. I guess none of the previous manufacturers wanted to engineer it, or pay to produce it.

That's not complete you liar. make a mud guard for that shock immediately, and trim your seatpost!!0
You need to run these bikes with a little more exposed seat post, notice how low the seat tube/top tube intersection is due to the downsloaping top tube. His seat is probably at about the same hieght it was on his old bike.

Sweet ride Geof, I like the all black, looks good.

That thing is beautiful. I hope the hose next to the rear brake doesnt break and spray brake fluid everywhere. Kinda tight bend

Whats are you talkin bout Willis?

Thats how the man (mert) envisioned his design and thats how it was patented resulting in the Gary Fisher/ Lawwill RS-1 which btw was a XC design destined for climbing and....well XC riding!

Theres some great sites and history regarding the RS-1 and Lawwills in general on the web so check it out!

The Lawwill concept btw was always meant to be concentric. Just because other choose not to didn't make it wrong, but it didn't make them right either.

Concentric in a single swingarm configurement without a platform shock....and a low mono-pivot didn't help wheelpath at all!! But it sure made for a great fr setup as long as you weren't tring to go downhill racer fast.

Concentrics work when done correctly and with some thought. Roteccycles was founded on concentric's and worked well with its designs but after GRC bought Rotec we kinda wanna do things different then what most would think of as a Rotec.

Think we hit the nail on the head, sorta speaking...... that is.

The bend will never be tighter than that because it's a floating set-up....so as the suspension cycles, the angle of the bend in the line will only get more obtuse....

Already sorting that out with Geoff regarding that possibe issue, good eye!

Can't please all the brakes all the times right out the box though without some thought.

I'am making suggestions to them regarding the hose routing to sort that out with them. Platty is just a few weeks away for him. My rig runs Goodrich with etra slack at the end so the hose goes past the caliper then rolls forward to the caliper. Nice a tidy!

Could also just not use the last break guide and route the line loop over the stay, and then let it drop back down, this would give it more then twice the room to make the turn.

Yeah but it will constantly be moving. If it is tight it may eventually break. Saw a similar situation on a friend’s bike last season. Made it through about half the season before it started leaking. Not saying it will be a problem just something to keep an eye on.

Again that looks like an awsome bike. It is on my short list of frames for next year.

hey,

Don't run your hose like that. Those fittings are not very strong, i have had one bend on me before

I have a suggestion for you. I am not 100% sure it will work but you should check it out.

See if you can get one of the pins/olives/bolts from the brake lever to work on the rear so that the hose leaves the brake straight, not at 90deg's. This will work if the bolts/threads are the same size/pitch. I am not 100% sure but i think they are.

The other option is to run a goodridges hose on the rear, the fittings are alot stronger.

made the loop like Sully said to, all is good now. I was concerned at first also. This frame built up well. Lots of well thought out features. iscg mounts and iscg05 mounts as well. I just bolted up the Gamut P40 and was done. Unlike 1 or 2 hours setting up My last E13(flame away) The cable guides were perfect with quick tie holes in the guides. Integrated fork bumper and integrated Hopey Mount which will be added later, the floater is perfect and well thought out and the rear axle was very secure while being simple. Ride reviews to follow.

This is what Geoff had to say,

Well the first race of the season was a blast. We were treated to two days of perfect weather. The course had a lot of pedaling at the start and at the finish. The course flowed over "Broken Tooth" which is one of those blind drops that can almost be rolled or at speed will drop a rider over ten feet !! It was a good test for My new Rotec RL9 and to see what kind of shape I was in. After breaking components all day on Saturday, I felt the bike was dialed in and ready to go for Sundays Race. I had a perfect race run until the chute just after "broken tooth" where I blew the turn on loose shale rocks. Had to get back on the bike and push uphill to reenter the course. I still managed a second place JrX finish with a time that would have Me in the top ten in the pro catagory. I was very pleased with the Rotec RL9, it did it all pedaled great on the flat first section, railed the loose shale berms and took the drops with plenty of travel left. I am really looking foward to hucking it this weekend freeriding at Plattekill.

broken tooth

just after broken tooth and just before Geoff's crash

Didn't go much better for Alf. He got thrown off his and got a concussion on Saturday and then dropped a chain during his race run on Sunday.

My first win of the 2006 season on the Rotec RL9 !! The Diablo Domination Series races run only three classes Pro, Am and Intro. There was 93 racers in The Am class which contained all ages. After a dry practice day on Saturday the clouds opend up about 2 hours before My start time. The rain changed the course dramatically, from a bone dry rockgarden to a super slick course. Several pros crashed on the wooden bridges which were like ice when taken at speed. The course finished on the US Open berms. The RL9 was perfect in the rockgardens, I was able to pedal the whole way. I feel like I'm getting it dialed in. Next week the US Open at Diablo !!!

i like bikes that push on both ends of the shocks.
get a great straight rate. I saw one at AF and
would have like to try it out but didn't get to.
