I got a set of springs that I left out in the back of my truck cuz they were covered in Fork oil...well Iguess the morning dew got to them and now theres a layre of rust on them....just surface rust i think. Will that surface rust break off it I put them back in the fork and ran it for a bit?

The rust should just rub off with a good scouring with a brush or Dobie pad or something.

Or use one of those SOS pads.

I think it'd be best to try to clean it off - you don't want rust in the various hydraulic bits in the internals. Naval Jelly?
