I'm simply amazed how is it possible that no gov. agency (either in the US or the EU) has acted on that matter yet. It happened to me once, on my friends bike with Saint brakes. Wanted to slow down before some gnarly step down when the lever came down to the bar. Super scary stuff.
Anyway, the thing worth mentioning (I think) is that my cheapo M615 Deore servo levers have aluminum master cylinder pistons instead of plastic ones seen on more expensive models like XT/XTR/Saint
Also, the push rod guide (?) is a separate plastic element that can be changed or modified to manipulate the mechanical leverage, while in the more expensive models it is milled in the MC body
