Saint Brakes: new style caliper on old style lever - will it work?

Hey guys,
i'm in need of some more braking power, and love that supplied by the new saint 4pot systems, the only issue is that i don't much like the feel of the new (servo wave) levers.

I have found calipers available separately and have the old saints at the moment, so i'm wondering if i can create a hybrid, or 'frankenbrake' if you will.

Now i'm fairly certain all the fittings with match up, so my concern lies the the amount of fluid pushed by the old levers as opposed to the new ones.

Has anyone tried this combination? Or have any insight as to whether it will work?

Any help would be appreciated..

Cheers,

don't make me kick your ass
Unlike shifting, braking is controlled by you. You determine how much fluid is pushed through the lines by the amount of squeezing you do at the lever. Therefore, you can connect the 4 pot calipers to your old levers.

Should be no problem. Think about the Hayes Stroker series. The master cyclinders of the Stroker Trail and the Stroker Ace are nearly identical (and suffer from the same stiction), but respectively have 2 pot and 4pot calipers.

They work, but defiantly aren't as powerful as they are with the new levers. I've ridden a set set up that way, and own a pair of M810s.
