I've been looking at saint parts and they're pretty good looking and they look pretty good and I was wondering, do I really absolutely need the saint hubs to run saint derailler and brakes?? I saw reviews of people saying they used deore hubs and regular shimano hubs so use the brakes.... although they didn't say nothing about the shifter....

I don't really want to get the hubs cuz I don't want to rebuild my 729's...

Help me plz    ....

It COULD work with a shimano hub, i remember seeing some kid do it on pinkbike-and made it bolt on on the other side-i think he bought the TA kit, and was able to screw the saint derailer onto the end of it. I'll try to find the link.

as for the mrp-yeah it'll work

What kind of rear hub do you have now? BTI (supplier to bike shops) sells kits that have Saint calipers and XT rotors so they can be mounted to IS 6-bolt hubs and you don't need to use centerlok.

I'm using a Saint rear der. with Mavic Deemax, more and more manufacturers are embracing the Saint axle mounting system.

It as well looks like in 2005 sometime Shimano will have the rear derail. in a 12mm style instead of the 10mm only that it's in now. Derail. hangers will be a thing of the past once they can make it work with not only 10mm but 12mm and up.

Nothing wrong with saint at all. Top notch freeride/DH components.

and another X9, and another, and another, etc... same for the shifters.

Or, just one Saint and XT's for the next 4 years...

I'm thinking about getting the the Saint brakes or Hope MONO M4 and well... screw the rear Saint derailleur, I'll just get an X.9 with trigger shifters....

We have an Enduro SX at the shop, our demo bike, full Saint with a sherman... I LOVE it.. The saint brakes are awesome. spare parts are easily avaiable, a moron can bleed them, and they will feel perfect. Really nice product. The saint hubs are bomb too. Larger bearings, tougher free hub, high spoke flanges...

If I can hook up a saint rear derailleur I'll go with that for sure....

And how does the rear Saint derailleur feel?

It feels great. It took me a little while to get use to low-normal (rapid-rise) but now I only make a mistake once in a while...

I got the short cage Saint and I can't imagine ever breaking this thing, it is so well protected and out of the way.
