Any reason, weight aside, why this wouldn't be an excellent rear derailleur for regular trail use ? I currently have a Shimano XT Shadow that started getting sloppy after less than 1 season of use. Want something more durable. Thanks
I never heard that the parallelogram pivots are higher quality on the Saint or XTR than the XT so I wouldn't expect any improvement in durability as far as "getting sloppy".
What he said. The new Saint RD has a tendency to give out on those same pivots, form everything that I have heard. IT will have a higher spring tension than the XT/R, but that's about it.
Otherwise it is fine for whatever use you put it to.
The spring tension is higher like mentioned for a crisper downshift as for pivots I've never had a problem with shimano pivots srams go on me in a month or two.
