Riding past the morgue.
Got flu shot last week at the hospital. Felt pretty rough by the afternoon and went to bed early that day, but otherwise nothing terrible. Last year I got flu/COVID shots at the same time and no side effects at all.

i usually try to replace helmets every 5-6 years whether i've crashed them or not due to material aging. with how often helmets go on sale I don't see any reason not to.
Tour and Bike magazine both did test old, used helmets vs. new ones and they always produced pretty similar results. So aging is a bit of a myth that cannot be supported by data. For me, usally the plastic of the retention system breaks before even the pads get nasty and require replacing.

aging of polymeric based materials is not a myth. whether or not there's a demonstrable performance degradation depends on a lot of different factors.

serious question. do you really stop, go set up (phone?) to film, go back up, ride, stop to get phone, and continue on?
did for this. short segment I had in mind, two switchbacks up off the main trail I was going on.

My insurance pays for up to 2 replacements a year. No questions asked. I usually end up getting one every year in the transit due to long highway trips.
curious-who do you have? used to be nc law to replace for free but from what i can tell, that ended a year or so ago-just before i got new insurance.

fucking hell of a Monday. We were supposed to work 4am to 2pm. One of the other crews got hung up at the VA because they didn't have an available room that would fit a gurney. So we had to go pick up two Hospital discharges after our normal shift. We ended up getting back to base after 13.5 hours. I'm beat.

At least they only have us running from 9am to 3pm tomorrow

I need a beer

Insurance paying 100%, had to pay up front, though. Had to wait at dealer, who's an hour north, for eight hours as they replaced, waited for adhesive to dry, and too some time to reset the light/rain sensor. They lent me a pickup truck so I could go find some lunch.
