While performing some overdue maintenance on the Heckler yesterday, I noticed that the front tire looked wider than the rear. Odd, because they're both Continental Mountain Kings and both marked 2.2.

A tape measure confirmed that the rear tire's two inches wide and the front is two and a quarter. What gives?

Is one a German one and the other an Asian version of the same tyre? Conti have the most confusing product list out there, they have so many versions of each tyre and they are often difficult to find specs on. The Aus distributor has incorrect listings on their site so I have to enter the product code in UK sites to see what I'm buying.

Yes and yes.

But, now that I think of it, one has a tube in it due to a pinch flat, but I would not expect that to affect width...
