Anyone ever make sangria? Getting to be summer, which is prime time for a refreshing and fruity beverage. Anyone have any tips or specific recipes or ingridients? I don't care about it being "authentic" or anything, I just want it to taste good and remain relatively inexpensive.
I made some this weekend and it turned out okay. It was mostly stuff I had laying around, which was the idea of the whole thing. One bottle of Merlot, one of Rioja, some rum, 2 limes, 2 lemons, an apple, juice of 2 oranges, one orange sliced, sugar and lime and lemon seltzer. Mixed fruit/juice/rum/sugar and let sit then added wine, let sit some more. We didn't finish it all so I put it back in the fridge and the next day it tasted quite a bit better.
