Does anyone know what happened or is happening with this? I am curious if someone was selected and if they went out for the "hell ride"

Yeah, do a search on MTBR for it. It was an MTBR member that got selected, he did the ride, it went well, he got the bike.. There was a whole ride report on it.

Mark Weir was all bent out of shape about the guy winning the bike. He said just when he thought the guy had just about given up... there he was. Chugging up the hill on that 40+lb machine. Rob Roskopp from Santa Cruz said it was f*cking funny.

I don't know Mark, but I know that he takes pride in being torcherous on the his rides. I would bet that he would be a bit disapointed if the guy won, just because he is a competative guy.

I don't think Mark Weir even kicked the Toninator's ass too bad at the marathon in Waco. I wouldn't want to do any ride like that on a 39 lb bike though.
