I was in the same position when i cracked my 2nd swingarm on my super 8. Warrenty V10 for cheap or a turner DHR. I went for the turner and couldn't be happier, i like to feel what the bike is doing rather then mash through stuff. If they had offered the new monoque V10 as warrenty it may have been a differant story but they won't do it.thruster said:No I haven't seen that just been having a hell of a time trying to have someone to call me back on warranty of my super8 was told I could get a 2004 v10 at for 1150. I think that I just might buy a turner dhr instead at least I can get through to someone.
Thanks again
Because IT DOES MATTER!!!!!! If you are not the first owner you have NO warranty. S.O.P. (standard operating procedure)thruster said:Why do you asked i was already told it didn't matter by santa cruz a while back (after spending almost 2 weeks to get some one on the phone) an I can get a 2004 v10 for 1150 so that onlt 350 less the the price they are asking for with no replacement.
do you work for SC now? why do you care so much?- it's not like he porously broke his frame!dhtahoe said:Because IT DOES MATTER!!!!!! If you are not the first owner you have NO warranty. S.O.P. (standard operating procedure)
Maybe you should try e-mail. I have had excellent CS from SC when using E-mail. I never bothered to pick up the phone because they always e-mail back pretty quickly.Matt D said:They won't answer the phone anyway, their CS sucks IMO.
The warranty is an agreement between the original owner and the manufacturer (not between the manufacturer and everyone else) that is why!Acadian said:do you work for SC now? why do you care so much?- it's not like he porously broke his frame!
I understand that..I'm just busting Mike's balls because he suddenly became this SC enforcer since he started riding a V10Mtb_Rob_FL said:The warranty is an agreement between the original owner and the manufacturer (not between the manufacturer and everyone else) that is why!
Probably, give it a try.thruster said:So does a sales receipt with may name on it count from a bike shop I never sent the warrenty card in.
IMO its much better to have something in writing anyway. Not to mention if there is a problem it is much easier to follow up. Just keep the e-mail and fwd it back until the problem is resolved. It leaves a nice annoying (if necessary) paper trail.thruster said:Maybe if Santa Cruz employees would spend less time on the net am more time answering calls this would happen.
Thanks LUC someone needs to do it. And yes as a pro rider riding for Santa Cruz I do have a certain responsibility to my sponsor. This is one (not the only reason) Karpiel had such a hard time. People used to call him ALL THE TIME and say " I bought this frame from a friend that bought it from one of you riders, and now I broke it JUST RIDING and if you don't fix it I will tell everyone that you suck. Go buy a CRF 450 second hand crash it a bunch and see if Honda will warranty that sub-frame that broke. This is why our industry is struggling. And Luc when else have I been an enforcer. The Karpiel thing had nothing to do with SC thing. Jan just wasn't getting people the bike that they PAID for.Acadian said:I understand that..I'm just busting Mike's balls because he suddenly became this SC enforcer since he started riding a V10
Hahaha.... that is the most stupid reply i have seen. Im upgrading to an avy becasue i like them and i had one on my super 8. Avys are great shocks, so smooth. I would have replaced the 5th element on the v10 had i got that as well. I would take a romic over a fifth anyday, i don't like SPV shock at all.me89 said:yeh but this comming from the guy who wants to replace the shock on his turner. you get the v10 you wont have to worry about that. and also you can stick a 5th element or other piggybacked shocks on it unlike the dhr.
I don't want to make you look like an ass or anything, but if you actually read the post it was a guy called Hrelp that was asking the question about the romic. I was offering to post a pic of my 04 turner with avy on it.me89 said:if you wanted me to keep my opinions to myself then why did you make a post asking what shocks i should get to replace the romic.
matt you didnt have to make me look like an ass i did it myself. my sincerist apologies for the last comment honest mistake. my bad.I don't want to make you look like an ass or anything, but if you actually read the post it was a guy called Hrelp that was asking the question about the romic. I was offering to post a pic of my 04 turner with avy on it.
