Anyone ever tried these? They're a bit pricy but the weight is right and the claimed strength sounds pretty good too.

Anyone ever tried them?

I'd be putting them on a DH bike with disc brakes, which sapim seems to suggest is fine. I'm a little weary of spokes which weigh the same as DT revolutions though!

I've built DH wheels with titanum ( I assume the spokes you mentioned were ti) and they took a ton of maintence, especially considering I only used them as race wheels. They were constantly going WAY out of dish because the spokes would stretch on the disc side. I think this happened because of the wind up that disc brakes cause. Anyway they didn't work for me at all. Butted spokes for downhill didn't fare much better.

This appears to be an overzealous claim by the manufacturer.
Any spoke will windup when you build them, even 2.0mm straight-guage. If they don't you're not doing them tight enough.

As for the spokes, well it turns out Nico Vouilloz rode them to his 10th world championship win in 2002. SO they can't be ALL bad.

Sure I know he's super smooth, but the courses he rides are also a lot larier than most of the stuff I'll ever ride.
