amusingly, the co-worker who covered for my presentation (which wasn't that bad of a task since he's one of the three people including me who have been involved with this project this past decade) either lost his passport or had it stolen. got to Narita yesterday and no go.Are you sure?
he has to stay at a hotel near the American Consulate until Monday when they open and then figure shit out. I have my passport. I think.

Horse trailer is almost set for Kentucky. all 4 tires were about 10psi low, fixed that. 6 bales of hay loaded. stall area cleaned. Trailer guy coming on Tuesday to Repack the wheel bearings with grease, replace a few dead maker lights. Came home and baked some Pita bread and made Falafels for dinner then I spent 30 minutes cleaning the grease splatter off of the oven, and another 30 cleaning the rest of the kitchen.

9 degrees at the trailhead. Lots of frozen stuff. Grass falling over from frost and dead, but fucking alders still in the trail. I was able to ride over the worst creek crossing that was like 2" of semi-hard ice, but some dipshit runners came after me and collapsed it. Getting back was sketch, but at least my wolfgar+vapor barrier setup is pretty watertight.
Got a flat about 5 miles from the end though, didn't go totally flat, but not sure what the hell it did. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't let air pressure out earlier and I had forgot to bring a tire pump. Turns out, I still had one of those asinine Milkit valves in, which basically means you can't let air pressure out. You also can't inject sealant from a bottle, you need a syringe for enough pressure to push open the secondary valve. Those things are terrible, never ever buy them. Got it fixed up. Still not sure why it decided to lose a bunch of air. Feel like I got the CCDB tuned pretty decent actually (finally).

Especially on thousands and thousands of miles of legal terrain that just isn’t fun on a struggle buggy.

Quadrupling our local singletrack options here is just plain smart, if you love fun.
And giggling and chatting while negotiating UP insanely steep basically doubles the potential fun as well.
The purity bullshit is so cliche anymore.
This year it has been my fountain of youth, no lie.
And when you are, you will seriously, honestly, wonder what was wrong with you for not experiencing one of the damndest absolute fun things available on this planet sooner that is basically not hurting anything but some egos.

I like going to the Local Art Museums. Ours are pretty good. Just Art in Public. Just hanging on walls and shit. Nothing to thought out. I dare anyone to not be affected by a trip to the Museum. Or the Library. Ours again is pretty awesome also. They keep both the Boston Globe and The Boston Herald just for me. I bring Coffee and Muffins from Wegmans once or twice a week and I don't look up porn on the public access computers. I like having access to the local history archive. They don't slouch on keeping up the Catalog either. I can geek out there for hours and nobody seems to care. 10 blocks from my house.
