Haven't been keeping up with bike stuff for a while and hadn’t heard of this place. Have you ridden there before?

Sun finally returned. Did some gardening, rode my bike and sat in the sun. Warm enough fur t-shirt and cold beer. Fired up the grill for the first time too.

Afternoon Monkeys.

It always rains on welding day. I get occasional breaks in the wet, so I can get it done, but it takes a bit. I need to finish the box the water heater goes into. I've had to cut and reweld this damn thing three times.

Did a quick 50miles on the road, super warm weather versus the forecast meant I was overdressed on the climb back up the mountain.

Hopefully proper trail ride tomorrow.

Haley is on fire today. First time in her kart since the tune and fit. First session :55 (previous PR) > :51. Second session :51 > :49. Top speed up 42mph > 49.8mph.

It's getting a new seat that fits properly put in right now, so we'll see how that impacts in session three. She came in midway through session two because her "brakes weren't working". Turns out she is just going so much faster that her brake points are having to move substantially back.

She wasn't feeling super confident this morning, but she's walking strong at this point. She knows that she has seconds to drop to be competitive, but this has really helped her confidence.

Another red flag day. Christ Almighty, had it been bad the last couple days. Had been my intention to take the girls skiing this morning, but predicted sustained winds of more than 25mph all day at ski hill killed the motivation. Spring is dumb.
You shoulda went skiing, it was real nice up there. Breezy but not overly windy. Bluebird sky. Fresh snow.

Yeah yeah, I know I already texted ya this. But I wanted everyone else to be Able to shame you as well.

My first fatbike races of the winter today, an uphill race followed by a DH one. Won both. Now got 20 days of free lift tickets. Hit 52mph on the DH.

Well... It turns out that the throttle got stuck open on the second session. So *maybe* a little bit the brakes weren't working.

Third session she was consistently at :50. She said the seat felt a lot better, but we probably need to put in a little bit of padding in a few spots. The speed did seem a little low, so I just checked Colorado Karting Tour (CKT) rules about carb limiters and apparently there is a specified gear ratio for each track. She's on a 22:63 and that track should have a 22:69. I'd bet $1 that she's topped out for that track with that gear ratio.:bonk:

Edit: she's so fucking mad right now.

that's not how that works if the 22 is the drive gear ;)
I know it's the other way, but the longest straight is ~125yds. The 22:69 will allowed for quicker acceleration to top speed (49mph) vs the 22:63 that has the actual top speed (54mph). If she's up to speed faster, then she'll be going faster down the short straights.
