was a balmy 25 degrees yesterday so I hit the trails for a ride. I anticipated the trails being pretty dry, so I left my botties at home. Whiel the trails were pretty dry, the streams where on the high side, which made it very hard to ride the stream crossings without getting wet. Bad move. Feet got cold in a hurry, cables froze, calipurs froze, ice built up around my der pullies... it was bad.
But the trails were dry and, for the most part, hard... so the riding was good. I bombed around for about 90 minutes, did a little trail improvement (trail maintenance would be overstating my work...), cleared some blowdown, re-routed a trail, that kind of thing.
All it all it was a great ride. I can definitely see my time on the trainer is paying off. I'm able to do things I wasn't able to do last year - even late in the season when I was in decent shape.
