[I Are Baboon]

MBC and I rode Somerset Reservoir in Vermont yesterday (about 30 min from Mt Snow) with her cousins (two non monkeys). None of us had ridden there. It was one of the most challenging technical trails I've ridden. Lots of rock gardens that I could not clean, lot of logs that I could not get over, lots of slippery roots. MBC took a pretty good beating and has several fresh scratches and bruises to show for her efforts.

From what I hear there are ton of trails there. We started out kind of late in the day (4:45), so we only rode about three miles and had to turn back. The loop we did is right around the reservoir, so it was very flat. Very tough trail, though.

Also, being so close to the water, the trail was WET and SLIPPERY.

It was also very narrow.

I can't wait to go back and try it again (now that my brakes are fixed thanks to Splat and his grab bag of spare parts)

looks nice. finding prime singletrack in VT is always a tough proposition (you need some local knowledge most of the time).

If you happen to ever be in Hillsborough NH, you should try your hand at the mushroom trail at Fox State Forest. The trail is almost all rocks.
