I rolled out of bed at 5:30 to feed the dog only to find out Wife fed the dog at 5:15 so I went back to sleep for two more hours. 20 hours of sleep the last two nights...it's been a while since that's happened. Then 10 minutes after I got up, Wife got back from her run and made homemade pancakes. Day's off to a good start.

Today's plan includes 30 miles on the tri bike.

I've been having vivid, troubled dreams. Not a good night of sleep.

Going riding today. Looks like we'll have a few folks out and one random new guy from pinkbike who wants a tour of this place.

It rained for the last day and a bit, so it'll be interesting to see how sketchy the roots are and if there are any good hero dirt patches. It'll be good either way.

In hell. Welcome!
Morning. No rain today, a ride is in the plans for the evening. Gotta do a bunch of work in the yard, and start planning road trip vacation that is starting in less than a week.

Yuna has had two dry days this week. Then this morning, while I'm watching her, of course, she's been wet, had a giant poop down her legs, and then been wet again 5 minutes after using up half a package of wet wipes to clean her up. Gah.

Storm clouds look like they're waiting to try and kill me. Better stay on the couch and have more coffee, just to be safe.
Just got back from a chimpex loop, light shower as we came back up through windy saddle and now there's blue skies above our home.

Not sure what happened to thunderstorms all day...

Made it to the coffee shop to get lunch. Pissed myself 3 times in under 30 minutes. Awesome

Looking like epididymitis, based on the current pain in my left ball. Gotta see a specialist, but it's a holiday weekend so I have to wait for that fun. More antibiotics is the meantime.

In the mountains but constrained by family stuff=no ride today. At least I'll be half way in the bag sitting next to a fire in a few hours.

Took my eyes of this little dude for a few seconds and he did this (first stair assent). He is a danger seeking missile.

Fingers crossed today's sacrifice on the altar of the family man results in Pisgah miles tomorrow!

Ride was a success. Five total riders out and we had a blast. Storm down hills, slogged up climbs and blasted through mud and water. Had to chug our mid-ride beers due to be assaulted by mosquitoes.

Felt okay for still be slightly sick. Time to make some pasta and enjoy some beer.

Anyone watch War Machine on netflix yet? Pretty interesting character there.

Cool...Peter on the podium in 3rd. Dude is from the forest we rode in today, also where some our other top riders are from. His little brother crushed us on a descent two weeks ago....then lapped the hill and did it a bunch more times. Animals.:rockout:

FFS...just discovered that the storm that fried our cable modem a few weeks ago also fried the Ethernet port on my NUC computer. As it's three years old any new replacement needs different RAM and HDD :/

Time to get a new motherboard and pop an M.2 NAND SSD in there, eh?

The storms were quite something on my drive down to Parker. People need to get with the program and turn on their lights in the rain…

In hell. Welcome!
Busy day, trimmed a crapload of bushes around the house, then rode some. Bike feels good after a total overhaul, but it looks like the source of ungodly creaks is one of my rear wheels. Now drinking Solar Plexus, one of my favorite locals, and I don't give a damn anymore.

Worked at the camp all day. Sometime in the morning, LBS owner reported on Facebook a bike stolen in the city of Vergennes yesterday.

Went into town and had supper with Hilarie. As I was getting in my car to leave, a group of Job Corps students walked by, with one of them wheeling the stolen bicycle. I took photos, accosted them, and confiscated the bicycle. They were not pleased and tried some mouthing off to no avail. I called the police, and an officer eventually showed up, took down some info, and said he couldn't do anything because the bike had not formally been reported stolen. I called the LBS owner, found out where the owner, who I know, lived, and took the bike to his house.

Run down house on a dead end road, pile of rednecks hanging around drinking and playing a guitar. "Does Matt live here"? Maybe, why you want to know"? "I got his bike". "Oh, that Matt, you still look like a cop". Matt eventually wanders out, I hold up the bike, "You need me to change your diapers too"? He's happy, the crew relaxes, all's well in the smallest city in Vermont.

As requested, I sent my photos to the officer, who plans to visit the Job Corps tomorrow.

One of my cousins from the funeral asked if I still lived in Asheville. She said she was just there and enjoyed all the weird galleries and weird people. With her country accent it sounded like "uhl thu ward paple".

The neighborhood bear apparently decided to try and break into our outbuilding last night. Couple of the panels are chewed up and clawed, thankfully he/she didn't get in.

$15 usb3 Ethernet adapter will be cheaper than ~$600+ to replace it all. It's already SSD and only used for downloads and film playback on the tv.

If you're not looking for an excuse to upgrade I suppose that's fine. :D

Ethernet on-board my Hackintosh that lives at work has never worked. This created all manner of problems for me, actually: no interface on eth0 on the OS X side, and the MATLAB installer absolutely freaks out if this is the case. Netflix likely doesn't care, though.

directly above the center of the earth
so my phone rang while I was out on the kayak. It was my wife, she was at the VW Dealer to get a service done on her under recall TDI. They had some never sold 2015 Golf TDI's that just had the software fix and were cleared by the EPA to sell. She could get one for turning in her recalled TDI for $4000 plus tax with a better accessory package and only 100 miles on the odometer vs the 90.000 miles on her car...no brainer

we drove it to dinner tonight
