My own world inside my head
This week I did a High Performer / High Potential class where we were given attributes to determine a candidates chances of future success. High performers are not always viewed as promotion material and High potentials, while high performers, are not always the highest performers. Ask HR what what you need to focus on in order to advance. Sometimes it's as simple as communication style or emotional control... other times it's because your boss is dick.
The thing is, our he has nothing to do with the process. I have an upcoming review to go over everything already when I get back from vacation. This was apparently the hardest decision on a promotion the office has ever made sooooo there is that. I have three sergeants all saying the same thing to me..... Next time there is an opening they will not settle for me not getting it
