I'm thinking about getting a Bullit but kinda worried about the headangle. Might install a Cane Creek Angleset. Any thoughts? Will it screw with the geometry too much? Will it effect the rear shock performance. Experts, please chime in.
14 views and no responses. Ok, I might need to clarify. I'm worried about the SC Bullit's 67.5 degree Head Tube Angle being too steep. I'm looking to do some light dh on a mini dh track and probably a little pedaling now and then. I'll be running a 36 Talas 160mm for awhile until I get a 180mm fork. So, I'm thinking of using Cane Creek's Angleset to make the frame more slack and comfy for the dh. Any thoughts?
I just sold my current gen Bullit but loved it. I had a TALAS 36 160 and an external cup headset in the reducers that came with the frame. I thought it was plenty slack for the speeds and roughness that the rear end would handle. It was my DJ, FR, play bike and I got it in medium even though I usually ride large so you can see that I was going for nimble/flickable rather than high speed/steep stable (that's what the V10 is for) so take that into consideration. However, I never felt it was lacking when used on serious DH trails. Definitely get the 150mm rear end. I started with the QR and it was way too flexy and no lighter than the 150.
