Post in the scams section so people could look out for his ebay ID. I had the same problem with a Nigerian scammer & my rail on ebay.

yeah, I got one a few weeks back saying "How much are you selling your Curnutt Shock for FXR (cut-n-pasted my title)"?

My add said $550.

I wrote back saying.

"My Curnutt for FXR is $2,500 dollars. What kind of FXR do you have?"

He said;

"I am happy with the price of $2,500 for your Curnutt Shock for FXR, I will send...blah blah blah"

I aways give my address as the secret service building in washington DC. This way they can send their forged cashiers check to someone who may give a rats ass.

BMXMan,

Are you still trying to sell that v10 you had or what?

What size was it, I may be interested.

I like the people that try to get rediculous amounts of money for old stuff. I don't know if it's a scam or if the person has no clue, but I saw a 2001 Shiver (gold and red one) for only $1000 canadian!!

I emailed him saying this: "$1000cdn? For that price, I'll buy two!"
He wrote back: "Awesome, but I only have an 02 Boxxer for that price as well"

Just be careful kids!

Isn't that twice now?

Can't you dispute it with eBay?? How can they charge you fee's if the seller is a scammer?

A lot of people in South America use couriers in Miami because the mail systems down there are worthless. I guess those people bribe the right officials, etc, to get the stuff where it's supposed to be in a somewhat reasonable amount of time.

Of course that doesn't mean you don't have a scammer, but that alone doesn't necessarily mean it's so.

That's exactly how I have sold a couple things to Vitox and other South American buyers. That is a legit form of transaction.

Yep, I sold a complete downhill rig to a guy in Miami who was in international shipping. I assumed he turned around and sold my bike another country for more dough. I knew it was not the average scam when he was trying to bust my balls on the price. I was nervous as hell until the checked cleared,
but it worked out fine.

well if you read my auction terms I specifically state I will not ship to an unconfirmed address and I will only take money orders or cashiers checks drawn on U.S funds...he's trying to od the opposite of both....oh and he made me aware of all this AFTER he won the auction....anyway I need to re-list it again :mumble: ....D

Second that. I sold my first DH bike (a Foes tube) to a really nice guy in Equador. He had me ship it to an address in miami because he said you have to hire private shippers to get stuff from the states because the customs officials are so corrupt (jacking up prices and stealing stuff). That was actually one of the easiest transactions I have ever made. As long as their willing to pay up front (and with paypal, money orders, or direct bank transfer), it's most likely not a scam.

I've gotten over 10 people who have tried that same scam on me for the road bike that I have for sale. I'm getting really sick of it, it seems I get a new guy trying to scam me every day. DEATH TO THE SCAMMERS!!!
