So anyone who has sold a bike on the internet knows that you get tons of BS offers from scammers. That is not what I intend to complain about, although it is infuriating. What I want to know why are all these guys so incredibly retarded?? They all use the same broken english, ambigous offers, and clearly ridiculous schemes. I thinking of becoming a scammer just so I can claim to be the best at something, since these morons would not be difficult to top.

Case in point

Respond.

If you cant speak English, first of all dont claim to be from an English speaking nation. Second of all look at the ad, It has multiple pictures. I mean come on guys, youre taking all the fun out of it by sucking so much.

I once pondered the same question and was given the following logic:

even if 1 in 1,000 or 1 in 10,000 falls for it then it's worthwhile for these low life scum sucking scammers to continue attemtping this bull sh!t

Yep, I think February is international scammers month.
I am getting tons of them right now, and I have had stuff constantly for sale the last few months. How can people still be falling for these things?

Oh,, they don't just do bikes and cars... not they are trying to scam you when you rent out a room.

My roommate got this when he placed an add to fill a vacant room in his house:

> i understand all u have said about the place and it
> is okay by me and paying for it is not a problem for
> me and i would like to have the place rented.
> i am a lady with cohere manner, very trustworthy,
> honest, understanding and also possess the good
> attributes and the good qualities of a good woman.
> i would like to pay for the place down so u could
> hold it for me and know how serious i am.
> i would also sign the lease when i get to the
> states.
> i am a christian sister and i treat people the way i
> treat myself and i also love my neighbours as much
> as i love myself.
> my payment mode is via a us cashiers check, or us
> international money order or travellers check.
> please get back to me if u agree on this.

My son got a very good looking check from a guy who claimed to be in the UK when he was selling his '66 VW on samba.com. The check was from a bank in Florida, so he thought it was legit. I told him I would check it out before he did anything.

I took one look at the check and you could tell it was printed at home. There was no perf edges, so i knew it was fake. I called the bank to be sure and they turned it over to the FBI for review.

The guy didn't follow the normal MO for most of these scams, so it seemed to be for real until the check came.

That's why whenever I sell things I tell them that the item will not ship until the check clears THEIR bank... becasue even if the check is legit, the funds might not be in the account!

It was a well done cashiers check, not personal check made out for $4500. The bank had no record of the account number, but the routing number was correct. They also did not have an account with that name attached to it.

I don't understand why everyone gets worked up about scammers.

Some dude (probably foreign) wrote a script to email offers. Maybe 1 in 100,000 are foolish enough to take the offer, but his script probably sends out a million emails, with no effort or cost to the scriptwriter.

You get one, great. Delete it and move on.

Becasue they are attempting to steal from me.

Granted I'm not gullible enough to fall for it - but they are still thieves trying to take what is mine. I want them to die, and I'd love to be the one to do it.

I also hate them because they prey on people who are not as computer savvy as 90% of the people here. I can see my mother being foolish enough to fall for one of these scams.

Personally I don't value them as human being. These people are useless leaches that add no value to society, and if I can waste their time or even get something from them (http://www.419eater.com/) I will.
