Yep, you can.

It's possible for the smaller presta valve to get wedged into the larger hole and flat your tube, so you can either build up the area around the hole with a couple layers of tape (ghetto fix), or you can head down to your LBS, they should have a little rubber grommit that fits into the valve stem hole to downsize it to a standard Presta size. I believe Mavic includes them on a lot of their wheels.

You might be able to find the grommit at a local hardware store, too.

Prestas will fit in a Schrader, but Schraders won't fit in a Presta.

We had this discussion at length this weekend during the "Tour da Palos" ride. Our group had six flats for six riders, some people multiple times. We started getting pretty desparate for solutions...

You can drill out the presta rim to fit a schrader valve.

Also you can just put the nut from the presta on the inside of the rim. I would also use a nut on the outside especially on the rear regardless of what the rim drilling is.

why is that?
I've found that my rear tire slips a little, and I end up with a crooked valve stem which can then end up ripping the stem off at the base. Putting the nut on the outside stops it.
