Anyone been using this extensively? Is it much lighter than a standard set up and does it hold up to abuse? If you've been using it, which model? I was looking at the I-Fly C and just wanted to get someone's opinion.

There was a thread recently about someone having a problem with one, but it was possibly caused by slightly improper installation. SDG took care of it fast anyway FWIW. I like the idea but the lack of post choices keeps me waiting.

SIC post next Fall, internally butted post with a much higher quality head than the SDG one :thumb:

Aaron - I used one (I-Fly C) all season on my DHR and I have no complaints. Just set and forget. My next bike will also have one.

I used I Fly C saddles on my bikes all year. I intended on using an I Fly on my XC bike since it is a tad lighter, however I had to work too much to get my butt broke in so I ended up using an I Fly C on the XC bike and put the I Fly on the slalom bike.

They are very durable and will sustain hits that normal saddle will exploded on. Sure, there are probably stronger saddles out there. But how much do they weigh? I have destroyed Marzochi Carve saddles that weight twice as much in one practice run.

I have had zero problems with the post. The initial few with 2 bolts were different. The post that I have are all the 1 bolt models. This is what was shipped for all of 2004. If you make sure that the teeth are fully engaged while tightening it, if will not strip. This is a much more durable design than the toothed post that ano companies like Kooka put out in the mid 90's. I know, I have some of that junk. ::

And yes, the plan is to be similat to the isis system. SDG is working out agreements with other post/seat manufactures to use the system.

My suggestion: I fly C. Good balance of butt comfort and weight.
