That is some seriously impressive terrain to access with a bike. Very cool!

Not only did we ride bikes, but I made Tim go first to make sure the ice was solid:

Here he is kicking the ice close to shore. I'm not sure how that will help halfway across though. This actually had started melting/overflowing where we crossed on the way back, so we had to go around a bit more. Starting temp was -3°F and at the end it was around maybe 20° by 4pm. By the glacier Jon and i each stepped in some overflow slush up to the top of our boots. Luckily they are pretty watertight with shoe covers and gaiters over those, so didn't get soaked. It's amazing what doesn't freeze in temps well below 0F.

That is awesome. It's also awesome that I don't live on Hoth myself, but the photos are sweet and a half.

My camel back would be well supplied with bourbon and other ingredients to take advantage of that ice and make some nice mint juleps.
