I agree, or trade the thompson for a good, correct size post and run the el-cheapo post in the meantime.

Oh- with the cheap post run the seat really low so the chances of bending the post will be minimized. Anyway Bullits have high top tubes so your seat should be somewhat low already...

thomson seatposts are overrated IMO. I've been using a $15 ritchey post for the last 2 years without a problem, if I'd spent the extra 50 bucks I'd still have a post 2 years old without a problem... gee I'm glad I saved the $50. Sell you wrong sized thomson for whatever you can get and pick up a cheaper post that's the right size.

I have shimmed seatposts with no problems at all. USE posts were designed around the use of shims (not saying good idea, just that its strong). Aluminum cans work very well. How much of a difference do you need to make up?

But I bet you sure missed that $50 over the course of two years... ?

I dunno, I believe in buying quality up front and if a cheaper one wouldn't have broken, okay, but if it did break, you wouldn't be saying the same thing right now.

Thomsons are light, strong, don't creak and come in more diameters than any other post on the market. To me, that's worth paying for. Glad you like your Ritchey post though :D
