at a road race near you
Noticed the other day while getting some runs in that about half the dh rigs had the seatpost slammed while the other half had some moderate extension.Coming from free ride over to dh i(out of habit i guess)i pretty much slam my seatpost down. Just wondering how you guys that race run yours, slammed, some extension?I could see where on a course with some flat sections and such it would be nice to sit and pedal, and rest your legs some what.Just curious.

I run mine higher than most because I like to feel the bike with my knees as I corner. The position of my seat tells me where the rear wheel is. It's hard to explain, but I get real ugly if I try and ride with my seat slammed.
Try raising it a bit. As long as you can still get behind it on steep stuff, it isn't too high.

I want to move to BC!!!
For me it is a question still.... and i would really appreciate the progress on this thread....

currently i got issues with steep stuff, i can touch the ground with only the toes/ball of my feet while sitting on the bike... i guess i should drop it 1-1.5" more... and follow Roasted's example.

My problem is that when the seatpost is high cockpit lenght is fine, but when i drop it... things go short :(
