If running one on an Evil Imperial at a pretty good extension (with the whacky seattube angle and no give on the rear end) doesn't qualify as "abusing" a seatpost, then I don't know what does.. No problems so far, not even a creak!Nitromike said:I love my Thompson on my XC bike but wasn't sure how they do when abused .. So Kidwoo .. any experience with either or just speaking out of your ass?
While it is true that my face is often mistaken for the human anus frame, I do speak from a mouth which belches forth these truths.Nitromike said:I love my Thompson on my XC bike but wasn't sure how they do when abused .. So Kidwoo .. any experience with either or just speaking out of your ass?
Yeah, but the hospital bill incurred when a sheared off seapost has to be surgically removed from your anus isn't cheap either...Nitromike said:Experience .. thank you Kidwoo
Thompson it is .. good thing I work for a bike shop on the weekends .. neither of those posts are cheap
Been looking at those for a bit. Which version ( seat ) did you get? I am still rocking the flite on my Heckler but, I know it won't last long.Acadian said:Thomson or maybe one those new SDG I-Beam's? I love mine!!
I have the I-Fly C Saddle..very comfy since it had a bit more padding than the I Fly. SDG didn't have any I Fly's left when I got it. The entire setup is still retarded light and pretty darn strong.Supa8 said:Been looking at those for a bit. Which version ( seat ) did you get? Whenever I've had seatpost dramas, it's been at the head, so even on a DH bike a strong post is worth it, especially if you get lazy and do things like slam your ass down on the back of the saddle when changing body position.Matt D said:What kind of bike is it going on? If it's a DH bike, your seat will be so low (i.e there won't be much leverage exerted on the seatpost), anything would probably do, so get the cheaper one.
