A 14-year-old male junior high school student set himself on fire and died on a Nagoya street in an apparent suicide Friday, police said. Aichi prefectural police received an emergency call from a passerby shortly before 2 a.m. reporting ‘‘what looks like a human being is burning’’ in Moriyama Ward in the central Japan city.

Jebus, I can think of other ways I'd rather off myself. I heard a piece on NPR awhile back from a guy who attempted suicide the same way, except he survived and went on to write a book about it. One of the most horrific things I've ever heard.

It takes a certain kind of full on mental illness to do yourself in a way such as that. I doubt he really felt anything...
