We finally found a buyer to the mrs' car. She went to the DMV and got an affadavit for sale that looks to be what is used if selling below fair value. It looks like we would be the only ones to sign. There is another form for tax purposes that appears to be only signed by the new owner.

We don't know the purchaser and would like to have some sort of bill of sale. What are we supposed to do here? Is there a place where we get these forms?

Appreciate any help...

A bill of sale is a pretty common thing. You can get one out of a local wheels&deals magazine ifyou need to. They tear out fo the back. Seriously.

In Washington anyways, you can just hand write the bill of sale. It seems fishy, but really the buyer just needs s piece of paper to take to the licenseing place that says that you sold him the car for said amount of money.

The ones I write read like this:

I, XXXXXXX, sold my car, a XXXXXXX, to XXXXX, for $XXXX.
Sign it and have the buyer sign it.
