So I sold my V10 the other day on ebay and received instant payment via paypal.

I wasn't aware that there was going to be a nearly-$70 fee tacked on.

Is there any way to receive an instant/electronic payment for $1700 without a fee? He is also from Canada and I'm in California.

Thanks!

Not that I know of... paypal takes a chunk of every transaction. I believe they rationalize it as a "processing" fee. I also believe that they are precentages of the transaction price... depending on the price, you get hit with a certiain percentage.

Actually if you have a personal account instead of a premier or business account and the buyer funded the purchase thorugh an existing paypal balance, an instant transfer or an e-check then there is no fee.

In order to recieve payment from people that funded their payment via a credit or debit card you need a premier or business account. As soon as you have one of these accounts, you will be charged 1.9-2.9% of the transaction no matter what the buyer's funding source is.

Make sense? This chart breaks it down for ya:
