I suppose 'replacing' would be a better term...

I started noticing some rearward play at the hub. As in the rear wheel can move slightly backwards without the the cassette moving.

Anyone gone through with replacing the freehub body??

Just double checked and the best way to describe the 'play', is when I lock up the rear brake, I can move the wheel forward and backwards a bit.

I assume since it's a Shimano hub that it features Center-lock rotors?.. If so check the rotor lockrings with either a splined cassette tool for the rear or a external BB tool for the front. Those need to be tightened to 40NM, so its alot of torque. That may very well be the root of your problems.

not sure exactly how its configured, but its probably just loose cones.
