^I'm glad whoever made that poster is so convinced. I am still **** scared that the American electorate will get cold feet over Obama or forget to vote and that he will loose by the slimmest of margins come election day.

Fingers crossed though.
I agree with you....It's going to be quite a bit closer than what the polls say.

As I agree with both of you, for the sake of the country I love, I will continue to have hope. I know it will be close and to say there is no Bradley effect is only a dream. But like DAG said, "come on white people, just vote for the white half!"

Here is the Powell interview, he is an impressive bloke and I hope that he still plays a role in the future.

WOW.....now that is statement that most people, for good reason, do not make (out loud at least).

I just googled "It's a shame he's black" and "it's a shame he's white", do you know how many results they got?

3- total. so on second thought I applaud you for being somewhat unique in you ablity to devalue and offend.

Cheers:cheers:

now I do realize it is in the context of Powell's endorsement and it's significance to the undecideds (who are most likely white, working/lower middle class) but it's still fcuked up.

I'd slap myself in the forehead but you're the one who deserves it.

Do me a favor mmkay?

I just listened to an entire morning of rush limbaugh do exactly what I was talking about. Go read my post again and figure out what my point is.

:stupid:

funny how this basic knowledge has absolutely no bearing on political position, and vice versa.
Generally people who participate in active political discussions know what is going on no matter their leanings. It is the millions of people whose political discourse is limited to reading chain emails about Obama being an Arab and Palin burning books that are worrisome.

It is thought that uneducated voters don't make a difference because they cancel each other out. The problem is that they are gullible and if one of those untruths is compelling it can have an affect on the election. How many folks took a ride on the swiftboat in 04?

I think I get your point. But I wasn't against your point, it was your delivery.

Here's my point

Instead of: "It's a shame he's Black"
How about: " It's a shame that Limbaugh and the like will discount the endorsement because Powell is black."

It's the emphasis on what is being dubbed shameful.

No blood, no foul.

i can't say enough good things about powell, and while i don't for a second believe he's endorsing obama b/c he's black, i do wonder how much of a role it played in his decision. not b/c i could think powell would want a black guy, but perhaps he believes the world doesn't need another white guy repping the u.s.

the world may never know

I like the fact that he stated that if it were a race issue, he would have done it months ago. He broke it down cleanly as to where he felt we were headed and where we need to be. I would love nothing more than for Obama to use Powell in his administration.

Considering Powell was the ONLY dude I ever felt was a good choice by W and I never blamed him for leaving, it would be nice to see him help rebuild the military.

Don't be so sensitive.

Hell I'm one of the guys voting for darky in two weeks :D
From 538.com on a piece about the poor state of affairs trumping the matter of race and getting the racist vote. No sources so I don't know if could have actually happened but...

So a canvasser goes to a woman's door in Washington, Pennsylvania. Knocks. Woman answers. Knocker asks who she's planning to vote for. She isn't sure, has to ask her husband who she's voting for. Husband is off in another room watching some game. Canvasser hears him yell back, "We're votin' for the n***er!"

Woman turns back to canvasser, and says brightly and matter of factly: "We're voting for the n***er."

What's that saying, " if you don't vote , you can't complain " ?

So does this mean that you'll shut the hell up now ?
