Sherman Slider Plus Vs Stance Kingpin

Would you guys say the extra money on a Sherman is worth it over a Stance Kingpin? I'm ordering it as an employee, and basically have a limited budget for my bike. I can spend more on the fork, but less on the brakes, wheels, etc).

It seems the difference boils down to the TPC dampening and SPV and the chromo vs alloy lowers.

What do you guys think? I'm riding some DH, freeride and some urban hucking, I'm 130lbs, and not a beast on my equiptment. Its going on a Brodie Demon frame.(7.6-8")

Thanks
Byron

one thing to help you decide.

if the frame has a non platform shock (think of the old fox rc, not the propedal). look into the kingpin

if the frame has a platrom shock(manitou spv, 5th, propedal....). look into the sherman

doing this will make for a more even feeling bike

I'd get the Kingpin. I like the TPC+ damping over SPV simply for its reliability (although the Kingpin chassis is having its teething problems, too...). I don't see the need for you to spend more for less reliable damping, especially if you want to put money elsewhere.

I see that Mammy-Poo's problems do not just lie in their Stance Line:

I like how the reviewer did not put the early problem in his cons. I bet if he took his bike on vacation and it locked up on day one, he would be complaining...

Hm. Any suspension review that includes the term "dampening" should be immediately discounted. But I digress.

at 130 lbs I think you should be looking into the lighter of the 2 forks. I ride the sherman slider plus and I love it. I have it paired with a swinger 4 way and they work great together.

Hey thanks for the responses.

The Kingpin seems to be the best bet for me, as the TPC reviews seem up to part with the SPV stuff.

MikeD - what do you mean the Kingpin is having its "chassic problems"?

Thanks for the responses, anyone have another 7" fork recomendation similar to the SHerman-Kingpin price range?

Thanks
Byron

wait in that review it says it has a wide turning radius as a con. did he mean to put narrow turning radius? i rechecked it a couple times and he keeps saying wide turning radius. last time i checked being able to turn your bars a long way is not a con. unless u like going in straight lines
