I was talking to a buddy of mine tonight at our local trail about a possible rebound and spv upgrade for the 03 sherman breakout. He said he'd heard of one but didn't have many specifics. Anyone heard of something like this. I'd be interested in having spv on a 6" fork if possible rather than buying the new 7" forks equipped with spv.

I don't know specifically about the upgrade. But if they allow you to go to spv evolve 2005 it feels awesome. I have abused it on whistler mountain, taken it on long trail rides and some short race type xc courses. The slider spv evolve itself does not have any of the previous stiction problems and feels great.

Hopefully thats the upgrade they are talking about.

I'm still going to get a plain old tpc+ cart for my 1st-gen SPV fork if I can. Screw the anti-bob thing...means squat to me and I like my stuff simple.

I am too heavy anyways. The anti bob doesn't work to its fullest with me. The anti bob thing feels like HSVC to me. Which is perfect because to date the best feeling fork I have ever ridden is my z1fr. This is a very very VERY close second (maybe tied...hmmm) :)

I'm 180 full geared up so it sounds like it would work well for me. Now that I think about it, my buddy did say something about evolve, so we are talking about the same thing then.

Cool..thats the new version of it. 2004 had issues with 'stiction' (heresay not experience) and the 05 was supposed to have fixed all that (and so far it feels like sex...I freaking love the fork)

There was a distinct crunch and sticking in the beginning of my travel, along with some knocking, before the cart blew up on mine.

Cool...I know I had read of problems. And took some consideration before buying the 05's. I just couldn't quote a source which is why I mentioned heresay ;)
