hahahah, its a manitou, it will never make a difference. I had a manitou that had real slow dampening, i lubed it up good and now it works great. Also, you can change the oil to a lighter weight. But yea, i would try putting some air in the fork as well and see if that makes a difference, cant hurt.
 
yea the air range is 30 - 150psi, I think when I got it it was at 30psi and I took all the air out and now the rebound is somewhat better, but I cant pump the fork back up cause I dont have a pump small enough to fit on to the shrader valve unlike marz the clearance is real tight

you have ZERO pressure in the SPV chamber? i suggest you call manitou and get educated on that fork. it needs some pressure in the SPV chamber. some say the minimum is 40 psi, some find that 35 or even 30 psi works w/o clunking.
