In regards to the catholic/protestant conflicts.

the ireland conflict seems to be centered around DUP and Sinn Fein...rarely does anything come in the news around dublin, but when i was in the north last year, larne seemed to be a hotbed of unionist/loyalist sentiment. shankin rd in belfast was also a bit eerie, w/ all the murals painted on the buildings.

i've never seen any politically motivated graffiti in the republic; there is definitely some in the north.
