Does anybody have any numbers on this hub?
Ratio of the wirepull on the Alfine Rapidfire?
Size of the parts in the hub?

Will it be able to replace Nexus'?

I attended the new product presentation not to long ago. The hub is totally new, but is based on the Nexus 8 Premium - meaning about the same weight, but Disc Brake compatible.

The shifter is for Nexus only. Cable pull ratio is irrevelant, it's the amount it pulls. In the case of Nexus it pulls exactly the same amount of cable for all gears.

not sure if I understood you...you mean the alfine rapidfire is for alfine only? so it won't fit the nexus?

I now heard from some companyguys that the alfine rapidfire will work with the nexus btw.

The Alfine rapidfire shifter will work with any Nexus 8 spd hub, just not with regular 8 spd drivetrains. Sorry I wasn't clear.
