Can't find much info on them. I know it will cost less than Saint, but will it be lighter or heavier?

One would think heavier, but you never know.

Judging by the sheer size differences, Hone has to be much lighter. That can be skewed by using 2-3 steel chainrings, but the arms have to be a lot lighter. I thought Hone was a beefier LX, not a cheaper Saint? An all-mountain groupo.

I heard it was a cheaper saint and the arms aren't hollow either, and that it was heavier. One of these days we'll get the straight skinny i guess.

These cranks are now on Jenson's site (albeit not in stock) with a price of $165. Which I assume is MSRP as I think Shimano mandates listing MSRP on e-tailers websites. That's a good price for cranks/rings/bb.

Unrelated... they also have LX branded hydro levers for $117 while XT levers are $58.

according to shimano rep:

hone is a step between the saint and lx group. it has more strength then the LX, but NOT THE STRENGTH OF SAINT. They should take a beating on moderatly sized stuff if installed correctly, but still not up the the caliber of saint. They will have LX Pricing.

i should think so but it still seems uncertain.

and what's with this every-shimano-crank-is-a-rebadged-some-other-shimano thing? they sure as hell look quite different to me! hone has a similar 'collar' around the base of the arm to the current hollowtech II but is completely different in shape.
