I broke a brake lever and have a replacement. These are the regular shimano xt levers (not dual control) where the line comes straight out of the lever. Can I just unscrew the line from my old lever, screw it into a new lever, and be good to go once I refill and bleed? Or do I need to cut the line and use a new olive? Thanks.

Try it without replacing the olive. It will probably work fine (frequently does for me) but if not, cut/replace olive.

I hate that shimano switched to Olives on those brake. i love the banjo clamps on mine. It is so much easier to deal with. Yeah try with old olive first thenif that don't work replace it. OLIVES SUCK!
