I have a Trek 8000 that has a Bontrager crank and BB, the BB is a 73 x 113. I bought a XTR crank set on closeout and I also need to replace the bb to the XTR splined type but it comes in 73 x 112.5. Will that .5 make a difference or will I be OK?

I know probably a stupid question, but I am just trying to learn to work on my own bike.

Thanks.

One half of a millimeter in the overall length of the spindle means 1/4 a millimeter shorter on each side.

I think it will work great!

No questions are stupid...

Thanks!

I saw the Crank and it was so cheap I couldn't pass it up. But when i started taking my old one off I relized I needed the splined BB, and figured with my luck I wouldn't be able to get one to fit my bike.
