Shiver DC or 66?

I just checked the Marzocchi website. weights are without steerer tube, but the 170mm rc888 is just over 1 lb heavier, but sits nearly 3/4" lower crown to axle than a 170mm rc66. does that make sens to anyone else?
you can't compare without steerer tube!

the steel steerer of the 66RC is that part what makes it relatively heavy against the aluminium steerer tube it weights hundreds of grams more !!!

crown to axle is logical.. at a singlel crown, the crown is more bended downwards, because it has to give the space for a free 360 degrees rotation under the lower tube :)

Ahh... Leave it to the internet to produce such a load of crap.... Get your facts straight first. The 888 line is produced in Italy. If you knew all that goes on over in Italy at our factory, you would probably be pretty impressed. It isn't just a bunch of people bolting parts together...

Yeah, it would be pretty interresting to visit Marzocchi(Italy) someday and see what goes down there... I got this info from a local forum. I know that everything you read on the internet isn't true :D , but I thought that the info was pretty interresting atleat, if not totally or partially true. The guy who posted the topic that I'm referring to, had been talking to a Marzocchi employee who had said: that the Shiver was the only "in-house production" Marzocchi had on their Mtb-lineup. You might know better since you also work for Marzocchi, but I don't know... :D

an added note:
I have to say that your customer service was pretty weak atleat here in Europe. It took Marzocchi five months to replace/warranty the (steerer-crown-etc.)combo for my 2003 DJ1.

I own or have owned that forks bay my own an I messured them on a Post office scale I don't know what they do in the US... búit in Germany, the scales are controlled and approved by Federel institutions.

so what they messure is reality and fairytale land :)

Just to make it clear.

I owned/own these forks

As I told all of those 3 are excellent. I loved all of them, I only changed from Shiver to 888R on the Demo 9, because the Bottom Bracket height with the shiver was way to low..

I don't have to lie to myself about the real weight

I justed wanted to help somebody who wants a opinion about hese Forks

so either you show us a calibrated scale with all those forks on it and the display, or you believe in that what people tell you who meassured teh Forks in Reality with axle.

Jm was kidding - what he's saying is that his 45 pound bike, plus 10 pounds of shipping material, falls under the weight category of "up to 70 lbs.", so that's what they put on the packing label and that's what he pays for.
