Ok I previously posted about the leg extending w/ axel is out/missing E-clip deal..I contacted Marzocchi and they mailed me some knobs and an E-clip, everything was put on but the leg still is not connected to anything. I pulled the leg out and noticed that there is a rod in the middle w/ grooves at the tip to be screwed into something...does it screw onto something at the bottom of the leg? Im about to build my bike up so I have to solve this problem ASAP!!

yes, you need to bolt it to the leg using the footnut.

I dont want to appear rude (but i probably will), but you REALLY need to take this to an LBS and have someone who knows what they are doing. I dont think you're upto it.

Oh ok I got it under control, this is my first DC fork so bear with me. The fork was taken to a LBS by the previous owner and even they couldn't figure out what was wrong.

That's what I thought he was asking, but it's so obvious that part of me was trying to figure out if he was asking something else....weird.

I've had my shiver all the way "apart" as well, the damper rods need to be screwed into the dropouts via the footnut.

I didn't take anything apart..when you take the axel out the leg shoots up because it isn't attached to anything..im just trying to figure out to attach it..

It could have something to do with that bolt on the bottom.

If the bolt is tight, then it has something to do with the top of the fork, C-clip and all.

Well im glad someone thinks im a complete moron...one thing at a time mate, I will be putting new oil in and getting it tuned as much as I can to my weight/riding style although there isn't much you can do with a shiver.

the DC
jdm -- what has probably happened is that the rebound rod has unscrewed from the cartridge body. This has happened to my Shiver DC a couple of times.

I don't know of a good fix other than to screw it back into the main cartridge, unfortunately you can't really hold the piston head from turning and you can't really get any loctite in there, so it's not gonna be terribly tight. Usually I tighten mine up and it's all cool for 6 months or so, then I'll find that it's undone.

The fix takes all of 2 minutes.
