Hey guys i just rebuilt my dh bike after a respray and when i lifted the bike up there was a few mm play between the shock and the frame i localized this to the shock bolt on the frame which is ever so slightly loose. Should mention shock had new bushings so its not that.

I'm getting new nuts and bolts for it in a few days but just wanted to check with you guys should that the play disappear once i crank the bolts down and will it in the long run cause an issues? The holes in the frame certainly aren't ovalized but there is a very small amount of play between the bolt and the hole. Any help you guys could offer would be appreciated.

Apologies if i wasn't clear its a single pivot frame all the bushings were replaced when i had the shock serviced and the main bearings are fine. The movement is between the bolt and the shock there's a tiny amount of movement if you lift the bike up and down between the bolt itself and the bolt hole. What I'm asking is this normal?

Totally depends on the scale of the movement. The aluminum spacers which go in the shock bushings may be worn out. If the bolt is a little small you could get fancy with a shoulder bolt. The flat section on those is more precise than the standard bolt shank.
