Firstly.....i'm new here so "hey" everyone.

I've got a Marz xc 500 retro fork (2008) and it has started making this knocking noise on the left leg (as i'm sitting on the bike).

I've called the bike shop i bought it from and they said it probably just needs oil or something and put it down to wear and tear.

So, (here's the problem) i'm going to have a go at servicing it myself. I do all the bike maintenance myself but have never touched the internals of a fork before. Can anyone give me any advice. I think i need to put 7.5 wt fork oil in but don't know how much. Don't know if i need to inflate anything in the air side of the fork. I really want to do this but i'm not sure if i know enough to continue.

Any help or advice is welcome.
Thanks

If you have to take apart the air side, make sure it is NOT inflated. And use lint free towels on everything, you can find them at auto part stores usually.
