Shock spring adapters

I've got an RCS ti spring I want to fit to a fox x2. The spring is for a vivid which is a 1.5" ID I think, so it's too big and has some play when mounted (like your mom).

Who makes step up/down adapters for different ID springs? I know they're out there.

In hell. Welcome!
CC makes adapters for their Valt springs, but their id is smaller - 1.43" iirc.
I am going through the same process for the dx2 but with CC springs.

Shit. Sorry man.

If the dhx2 and old fox stuff is different then what nick is sending me won't work either I guess. Want to petition problem solvers?
No worries, I had had them ordered when you posted your link. I'll try some magic with an angle grinder, I've ruined more expensive things in my life than a $9 piece of aluminum. ;)

If there's enough material you could maybe turn some bigger diameter threads in there?
What needs threads? I thought you guys were after just the spring perches? If you don't have any luck with fit, take a chance and approach a machine/lathe shop. They're likely to have aluminium stock if you're happy with that or you could purchase some Delrin if you wanted a plastic alternative. It would take so little time to make they'd probably do it for beer.

Oh you meant to replace the existing spring mounts. I thought just adaptors to modify the spring perch diameter and stop the spring knocking about.

Both would work. What you're talking about is more simple. Just potentially moar creaky. We're dust people toodles. We need to think of these things.
I made some adapters to do this for my DHR. First rev were aluminum, and creaked like a mofo. New ones are delrin, and dead quiet.

Well there goes my day/month/year/life savings
no shit. plus this has to be faster than asking my dad's machine shop group to make something. 70 year olds...you'd think they'd be in a bit more of a hurry.

All the machine shops got tired of me years ago asking them to do one off stuff for bikes and snowmobiles.

Thank god I got a guy from half way around the world to just show me an awesome service in freakin new jersey.

Why not 3D print some? I have some old K9 Industries adapters that I use(d) with my CCDB for an Obtanium spring. they cracked when I snapped the shaft. I was able to glue them back together, make a mold, and then reproduce out of carbon fibers and resin. The resin fiber ones are still working but have since cracked..still not causing an issue. I have a friend who is supposedly machining some up out of aluminum, but I still think 3D printing out of the appropriate material may be better.

BTW, I am looking to possibly trade that Obtanium 350X3 spring for a 250-300X3 (for a CCDB) as I am handing down the bike to my son. If anyone has one and is interested, let me know.
