ok so i got new saint brakes yesterday and the hose is a mile to long and have decided to trim it today. the question i ask 'the banjo at the end of the hose to the caliper, how do i remove it? just pull it out or is there some way?
wrong. you keep that side, remove the hose from the lever. I am not sure you can reuse the olive and the fitting, so be prepared to replace those parts.
I've got XT's, shimano brakes are great to work with as you probably just found out! Shortening lines wasn't too hard at all and didn't even need to bleed afterwards!
